Monkey (saron) shrimp - bad as some say?

Is this type of shrimp suitable for a reef tank? The book says "yes"
but many comments on the Web say "no".

I read into thier feeding habits a while back, and that did it for
me, no experience risked. They're carnivorous, opportunistic feeders.
Meaning, they'll eat any other critters they can manage to get a hold
of.
