I have a 30 gallon octagonal tank. It finished cycling 2 weeks ago. I
would like to know what fish I should look for to put in it. I would
like hardy fish since I am just starting out in sal****er. I havea
500 acquaclear filter. i know the fish all need to get along, but
need info on what beginner fish would be suitable and would get
along.

So far I have a Tomato Clownfish.

Thanks

I liked my six line wrasse. Very active, always swimming thru the rocks. He
committed suicide though and jumped out the top when I left the lid open after
feeding. I believe they get along well with clowns.

Six-lines are great. They're very docile, and completely ignore most
other fish in favor of the perpetual exploration of rockwork.

Thanks..I had a goby (red-banded) but he didn't make it...he wasn't
eating. Also, I think my fish max due to the lack of width in the
octagonal tank is 4 (30 gallon). I would really like to get fish that
are highly visible.

Any other suggestions for fish? It would be nice to get some that like
swimming near the surface instead of hiding out in the bottom...would
be better to utilize the height of the tank.
