View Full Version : Haunted tank light?

My light keeps going on and off by itself. It'll stay on for 1/2 hour or so
and next thing I know, it's off.

The bulb is tight!

What's up? Is this a sign that it'll blow soon or am I missing something?

TIA,
Mary

My first guess - bad ballast. This site may be useful as well.

How old is it? It might just be as simple as changing the bulb.

It's only been about 8 months - I thought bulbs were either out or not
out... I guess it would be smart to try that first, though, huh? :)
Thanks.

Could be the ballast overheating depending on type of light.
I have seen that happen before with lights
