i have a toadstool leather that is getting way to big, its not
spliting into two pieces or developing daughter pcs. it is one piece
that is very wide. would i do any damage if i cut it since it is one
piece, also any preferred method of cutting

I had one of these that got very big, and never split. I cut my into many
pieces with a razor blade and they all reformed and attached to rock and
developed new heads to them...i found it to be quite invinciable like
regular mushrooms.

I would suggest making the cut to be as small as possible. Opening the large
surface of inside coral tissue could lead to infection and RTN.
Use the razor for cut.

Ive had them over 20" tall and 6" in diameter and chopped them down like a
tree at the trunk, to watch them grow to over 20" again and do th esame thing
(chop em down)
