I have a large tiger oscar in a 400 litre tank he bullied the other oscar
until it died I would like to add another oscar but am worried about the
bullying happening again I do regular water changes and feed a good diet but
when I bought my oscar he had small indentations in the head area I dont know
if this is a sign of hole in the head disease as I haven't seen the first
stages of this disease before although this haven't got any worst. I was
wondering if I should start again with baby oscars instead of fully grown ones
I am not new to keeping cichlids as I kept malawi's for years by the way my
water conditions are fine and my ph is 7.2 also how many fully grown oscars
can I keep in my tank I thought 2-3 will be the limit without overcrowding any
suggestions thankyou

that tank is only suitable for 1 oscar, imho. They generally don't like
companions once they start maturing a little.

My experience with Tiger Oscars has been the same, eventually they just get
mean and the biggest one usually is the sole survivor ...

If they are reasonably close to the same size then possibly yes, if nothing
else they will be evenly matched <g>.
