I have a dino problem, 6 months now! confirmed at a university biology
lab. mixed with some cyano and a few diatoms. I read that this should
be self limiting if i just leave it alone. I was doing 10% water
changes weekly, adding trace elements, strontium, water parameter are
perfect, use RO/DI for top up/replacement.
Dinos often pop up early in a new tank but mine is 5 years old! only
thing I changed was getting a Ca++ ractor (at which time I stopped
dosing Kalk) and Metal Halide lights and have had a problem ever since.
Snails all died (dinos kill snails)
is it possible i was too clean and the tank was acting like a
perpetually "new tank"
any suggestions re dinos?
I have re-started Kalk and turned down the Ca++ reactor this seems to be
helping a bit.
