I was changing the water in the tank tonight and noticed a long-fin zebra
danio with Pop-eye. How can I treat this? Its a 50 gallon, 25 fish
community tank. Or should I remove the fish and put him out of his misery?

leave the fish, it will likely be fine. Regular water changes will help
prevent popeye, not to say you are not doing that now however poor water
conditions can cause it. You can purchase medication Mardel products and
spend 10 times the value of the fish and likely get no results anyway. No
need to destroy the fish unless it bothers you to look at it.
