View Full Version : Which overflow

I recently read that it seems overflow boxes using pumps are more
troublesome than those that don't, specifically losing siphon. I'm getting
ready to start a 50 gallon tank with a 10 gallon sump. I've been debating
between the Amiracle U-tube type and the CPR CS-50 with the aqua lifter.
Which do you guys recommend?

Thanks

Scott

remember the principle KISS. the basic u-tube is simple and reliable. No
chance of losing siphon unless you lift the tube out of the water. Anything
else risks the loss of siphon

If you are going with a sump then I would look into having your tank
drilled. That way you wouldnt have to worry about all the problems
with a hang on overflow box. Drilling and the bulkhead should run
more then 30 bucks or so depending on where you have it done. It
would be a good investment considering the time and money you will be
putting into this tank.
