I was just wondering if anyone has done this and if they have, how
difficult is it. I'm fascinated by them (mostly the tetradon
fluviatilis). Any info would be great.

I tried but the males kept popping the females.

I have read that it is incredibly difficult - I think a guy in Taiwan
succeeded in breeding dwarf puffers. That's why all puffers (there might be
a couple exceptions - I'm not sure) in stores are wild caught.

i'll defer to NetMax, but i am of the opinion- via heresay and internet-
that Carinotetraodon travancorius can be bred in captivity with regularity
and fequency. i've seen these sites refered to a few times on the topic:
http://www.rr.iij4u.or.jp/~kohda/en/en-dwarfpuffer.htm
http://www.dwarfpuffers.com/
i keep five of the little guys myself and while i have not as of yet tried
to breed them, the day will come when i can convince the wife a new tank is
imminant.

A man said to the universe:
"Sir, I exist!"
"However," replied the universe,
"The fact has not created in me
A sense of obligation."

Thanks a ton guys...really appreciate the info. It's definitely down
the road, but I will definitely be trying my hand at raising some "dwarves".

it would be ungentlemanly of me to not offer a lady a chair to sit, and
ill-mannered of me to say she misspoke. so neither need you stand nor be
corrected, but are amended. ;-)

Marlowe gave Shakespeare the language before he died of a tavern brawl.
Makes you wonder what he said, does it not?
