Has anyone ever purchased from Empire pets? They're located in Marietta,
Ga. I ordered some stuff on the 1st, they hit my card, and I haven't heard
a thing since. My account says it's still processing. They haven't
answered any e-mails and forget calling. The old saying applies, if it
quacks like a duck...etc. If they actually come through I'll let you know
but I'm not holding my breath.

Good luck Scott,
Empire pets, ebaeseller are one in the same and they suck, beonde suck. I
did a buy it now on a overflow hose. Their auction says lightening fast
shipping. I paid on the 28th and my order was shipped on the 7th and I
received the wrong order on the 10th.
I opened the box and I had hand held disco lights.So I E-mailed them,6
times on the various addys they have with no response. I finally called tham
and they told me that they were too busy to work on my order at this time.

I just had the same exact problem with ebaeseller during the same time
period. Paid on 28th and didn't ship until 8th! Not too big of a deal, but
when they don't answer emails it makes you nervous. I'll never buy from
ebaeseller again. Oh and you can throw auction-partner in the same mix.
This was the worst transaction ever. They kept me hanging on just long
enough till I couldn't do anything about it through safe harbor.

I paid $210 just to leave a negative (worthless pile of junk still sitting
in my basement) and then those *&*^%$%%%^ try to get my feedback removed.
I quickly responded and once again they never respond to me or square trade!

..On the flip side.. I just bought a fluval 304 for only 40 bucks brand new
and a prizm skimmer (returned my seaclone) for only 31 bucks! Great deals
out there, but you have to work hard to get them. Too many scammers!

Damn, I ordered some disco lights from them and got a stupid U shaped
pipe.

I finally received an E-mail from Scott explaining the situation and I have
to say I understand. I am in process of returning the disco lights to
receive the overflow tube. I do not agree with the treatment I got or the
rudeness from them but at least they are going to make good on getting me
the correct product.

You paid with a credit card right? Call your CC company tell them what has
happened and the CC will stop the payment or reverse the charges. If you
want to spend the time you can also contact the Better Business Bureau in
Marietta and go after them that way aswell......

Good Luck

Yep....doin' it that way is the same as writing them a check. Once they cash
it, you're screwed.

"Paypal and the way it attaches to you bank account"....eewwwww...sounds
like a leech or something. This fact can't be stressed enough...never give
an unknown seller "no recourse" access to your money. Always keep that
Visa/MC ace up your sleeve when dealing with unknowns, and never, ever, let
them drag things out so long that your recourse options dwindle.

Is Paypal they still getting away with the "we provide bank-type services,
but are not held to the same rules and regulations that the Feds govern real
banks with" routine? I haven't heard anything on that front in a long time.

FWIW,
Kev

The Better Business Bureau is a joke. They don't do anything but play mail
carrier, becaue they don't want to loose that money that their members pay
them.
The BBB is nothing but a front. They may have been something at one time, but
they are nothing good now.

Well, someone finally replied. It's kinda funny how it was within hours of
telling them to cancel the order and refund my money. Supposedly scheduled
to ship today.

Disco lights? Hmmmmmmm. Maybe throw in a little Capt. Morgan to set the
mood...Nemo could get lucky tonight?

The thing that ****es me off the most is that now I have to waste time out
of my day because of their screw up and mail that product back to them
(paying for it out of my pocket and they will/may refund). And I still have
to wait until they process it before I get my correct product. Maybe I
should just E-bay the disco lights and be ahead of the game. Hmmmm

From what I remember, anything that is mailed to you without your consent is
yours to keep.

I was accidently sent a modem from my internet company a few months ago. It
was supposed to go to another customer. They noticed their mistake and
tried to intimidate me into mailing it back to them. I stood my ground and
got to keep the modem.

HMMM?

Why ?

Not too sure what your point is, but mine was you don't need to feel obliged
to spend your time and money (shipping) to correct someone elses mistake.
If they had taken the trouble double checking their order, he would not be
in this situation.

In my situation, I was asked to repackage it, pay for shipping and once thay
received it, they would reimburse me the exact same amount I had spent on
shipping as a renewal credit. Why would I do that ?

We're all entitled to our own opinion, but if a large corporation mails me a
$30 modem and then insists I pop by the post office and mail it back to
them, sorry it ain't going to happen. My time is more valuable to me than
this modem is to them.

Not to mention, they tried to intimidate me into mailing it back. Basically
threatening to charge me for it if I didn't mail it back within the same
week. Once they had gone that route, their was no way I was going to
cooperate. Call me hard headed, but I treat people with the same respect
they treat me.

As for the "right thing to do", I have no problem with my decision nor my
attitude in general. In fact quite the opposite.

And from what I recall, this person was getting lousy service from the
company that made the mistake. Not returning calls, getting the run around
(just look at the subject), etc.

Therefore my point was, why would he go through the trouble of fixing their
mistake when they didn't have the decency to do it themselves ?

And the "last bit of FRENCH self respect" is uncalled for. First, I'm
francophone, not french. Second, I have plenty of well deserved
self-respect.

Ok my turn yo chime in.
After the **** I took on the phone from these A holes I was trying to be
nice and save them some money. But now after I see how they operate and
treat customers. At this point I am out 10 bucks. I have 4 of those disco
lights from them that E-bay for 6 bucks. I can re E-bay them for 4 bucks
each and come out ahead of the game 6 bucks. I can send them back paying 6
bucks for shipping and if they screw me I am out 16 bucks. Yeah this is a
easy desision.
I can get my hose at home depot.

You guys won't believe it! The stuff I ordered from Empire Pets finally
arrived today! Let's see, I ordered on 1 Dec and it arrived on 28 Dec.
Hmmmmm......four weeks. Wow, that's what I call lightening fast customer
service. When I originally started this thread around the 13th, I hadn't
heard a thing from them. I e-mailed them and told them to cancel the order
since they couldn't bother answering my previous two e-mails (not to mention
not answering their phone the four or five times I called). Lo and behold I
got a reply within one hour! They tell me my stuff is scheduled for
shipment on the 15th. I don't think it did since the Post Office doesn't
usually take two weeks to deliver, even during Christmas. I went to their
site after the delivery to check my account. It still shows the order as
processing. No change since the 1st!

Even though the Amiracle overflow only cost $40, I can't help but complain
about the non-existent customer service. The only saving grace is they
shipped an extra siphon tube with it. I don't know if it was coincidence
that the tube that came with the filter has broken ends but it appears the
original box was unopened. I'll give them the benny. Bottom line: I did
get my merchandise. Will I ever order from these folks again...NO WAY!

I just wanted to inform you all what my experience with them has been and
from previous posts, it appears I'm not the only one that had problems with
them. Heads up!

I contacted the buyer who got my overflow hose and we sent each other the
correct items. ebaeseller-empire pets suck. We screwed up and we want you to
pay to get the items back to us and we will credit you. No thanks. I cut my
losses and have my product.
