Does anyone know of a local source for BIO-Spira in Boston, MA?
Thanks,
Susan

Susan, I live in Boston too and the only place I've been able to find
it is at The Fish Nook in Acton.

266 Great Rd
Acton, MA 01720-4709
Phone: (978) 263-9370

I've bought it several times from there.

Call Boston Tropcial in Cambridge too and ask the guy there. That place
has a lot, but I haven't asked about BioSpira.

It USED to be true months ago (I believe something destroyed their
supply) but it's available again, been for a while now. I got some last
month...

Thanks. I'll check that out. The Fish Nook is just down the road from me a
few miles, but I hadn't thought that it would have it, since it is such a
small store. I should have asked them first, eh? I finally called Tropic
Isle Aquarium in Framingham and they said they had it (after calling Uncle
Ned's Fish Factory--who said he didn't have it, never heard of it, but would
look into it), but The Fish Nook is much closer to me. Thanks again,
Susan

Got it at The Fish Nook. Thanks for the tip. They even had a 48" Triton bulb
that I've been looking for as well. They even gave an animal shaped hook to
my daughter (to hang up something on a wall--she wants to hang up a doggie
sweater when we get a doggie) as a free holiday gift. They are typically
expensive as are most LFS around here, but I will keep going there to get
supplies. They are friendly, as well.

Thanks again!

I'm so glad it worked out for you. I've been there a few times, but
they are kinda far from me. (I'm in Belmont) They have always had
things I couldn't find at other places too. (Namely ghost shrimp)

Anyway, I just wanted to pass along a link to the Boston Aquarium
Society to you, incase you aren't already going. I just went to my
second meeting last week. It's only once a month. Anyhow, they have
speakers come and talk about aquarium fish and the hobby. At the end of
each meeting they do a big auction on fish and aquarium supplies. I
bought two huge bags of plants for $10 last Monday. It's cheaper then
you'll ever find at any store and all the money goes toward the club.
It's free and open to the public, but you can join if you want to be
official. My vet actually told me about it and I thought I'd pass the
info along to you since you're local.

good luck with your BioSpira,

Thanks. Yes, I have visited the Boston Aquarium Society website and thought
about attending, but it seems like such a big production to get down there,
since I live outside of I-95. Or 128 as they call it around here... I'm sure
it would be worth it, and I need to get there some month for sure. Thanks
again,
Susan
