Hi
One of my orandas has a serious swimbladder disorder. He's pretty new
to the tank -i have 2 orandas in a 70 liter tank- a few months. if i
giv him the staple pellet food (TetraGold Medal:supposed to help
digestion, alot of wheatgerm), he's bloated, if i giv him a chunk of
freeze-dried bloodworm, he's bloated n if i giv him some boiled
de-skinned peas, he's bloated althou not always. so whats the problem.
the other oranda's fine n he's nearly a year old. temperature around
25 celsius, pH 7, water change 25%weekly. advice pls people.

Hi John ~ I have the same problem you do. I have one Oranda who
resided in a 10 gal. tank until yesterday. It's easily 7" long, and I
decided the tank needed to be larger. I carefully prepared the new
tank, used all the water, stones, decor and filter system from the old
tank, and added more water. The poor goldfish still prefers to lay on
it's back near the bottom - pretty motionless - for a good portion of
the time. Occasionally, it will upright itself and swim a bit. I'm
wondering how you got yours to eat peas? Perhaps I'll try that again.
If you find an answer, would you be kind enought to share? I feel so
sorry for the fish.

read all of it. dont feed the fish until it is upright, then tiny amounts of food.
get the temp to 78oF, good aeration with an airstone in there.
