Anybody know anything about Farcata Rainbows? Soooo pretty - about an
inch long, long very bright yellow fins, very playful and busy.
Are they good community fish? Where can I find out more about them? I
think I'd like to have about five of them for the upper midlevel of the
tank. How big to they get?
Thanks!

Never heard of that one, do you know the scientific name? Is it
Pseudomugil furcatus?:

Hi Victor,
Thanks for pointing out that webpage. The one I saw is more like this,
just slightly longer fins with even more yellow on them.

Apparently this link sends you to the first fish on the page rather than the
one you are looking at when you copy the link.

A dominant male celebes rainbow, at the height of his career. A
striking species, IMO the prettiest of all rainbows*, but you'd not
think it when you see them as terrified juveniles at the LFS.
Plus they're really happiest if kept in weakly brackish water, and
tend to be sensitive if kept in pure freshwater.
* it's not really a rainbowfish at all, it's a sailfin silverside, but
is usually counted among the rainbows.
