View Full Version : String Algae?

Just curious. My filter output flows over two flat rocks, to form a little
'splash'. One side which just gets a slight dampness has an unusual growth
(for me). The texture looks very much like string algae, but it is only
growing on the top of the rock and grows in very ruffled looking growths
about 1 1/2 inches tall. Any ideas?

Hi Bill,
I get that every year when the temps are where they are. Always on flat
rocks where the water fall is.

Oh, sorry, no. It's definitely algae. It just looks like wavy, green hair to
me LOL.
