Am new to the world of the larger tank. Although my "larger tank" is
only a 26g I have had good advice from this group that I should stay
with smaller cichlids. My ph is 8ish and not all cichlids enjoy this.

I've been looking through "millions" of web sites and my eyes are
bugging out of my head. Can anyone suggest smaller (max. 3"-4) type
cichlids that can tolerate 7.5-8.5 ph? Any help would be appreciated.

All the best,

You could go with firemouths or convicts. You could also go with some shell
dwellers if you can find them.
