View Full Version : Corals shipped from CA.

Hi all,
I purchased some corals from Drs. Foster & Smith . com.
The corals arrived on time, but I noticed that the water was cold to
touch. Not ice cold, but cold enough for tropical corals.
Anyway, the corals had all their polyps retracted (as expected,) and
after some acclimatization, I placed them in the lowest sections of the
tank.
The bubble coral opened up nicely, but not fully. I guess it eventually
will open up completely.
What worries me is the open brain coral. It still has not opened up
after more than 36 hours.
Should I contact the seller about this, or give it more time? It had
secreted some mucous yesterday, but today is perhaps a bit more greener
than before, but I don't see any obvious fleshy areas being exposed.
I greatly appreciate any advice on this matter.
TIA,
Rich

I'd make a call at the very least.

I did. They gave me a refund, and told me I didn't have to return the
coral to them. They were very friendly and nice. Fantastic CS.

Bought 90 lbs of live rock from them. Great company to deal with. The rock
was no longer on sale but the kid on the other end of the phone gave the
sale price anyway. Saved me about $90. Two thumbs up for F&S!
