One of two 19-year-old fish with human-like facial features in Chongju,
about 140 km (88 miles) south of Seoul on January 10, 2005. The hybrid
species fish were born between a carp and a leather carp in the pond of a
personal house in Chongju. Each of the two female fish is 80 cm (32 inches)

Has anyone realized how fake that fish looks? It looks like it was
enhanced by computer graphics.

Actually, I think it was a koi fish image merged with a blob fish image.
Why? Here's an image labeled "blob and snail fish" from the deep sea
exploration by Norfanz (a joint Australian/New Zealand study done a couple
years ago).

As you can see, the blob fish (Psychrolutes sp.) face does look rather
human-like, although I doubt that exact photo was used in the doctored koi
image since the eyes are facing a different direction. This photo is
however currently making the rounds along with other photos from the AU
site in a hoax email about creatures washed up in the tsunami, which could
have given the person the idea to doctor up the koi image.
And just for some more cool photos, here's another Psychrolutes species
guarding its eggs on the seafloor:

And they say evolution doesn't allow for leaving the past ancestors as they
were, i.e., man didn't come from apes or there would be no apes. But that
one fish definitely has Mick Jaggar's lips!!! ~ jan ;o)

This story keeps popping up.
Today, 1-20, it showed up on Drudge.
Considering the kind of pictures a bunch
of us pond amatuers have been able to produce
you think there would be a better image of
FishFace.
