I just ordered a Pentair Aquatics Lifegard Quiet One- 6000 from Big Al's.
Says that it will pump 1506 gph and a head pressure up to 12.2' It seems to
good to be true at $87.49US
I am not sure I should be trusting my tank to an $87 pump? Should I really
be looking at a more substantial pump for this project? Like a Little
Giant, Eheim or Dolphin Amp Master 2100 Inline Pump $229.89US?

Hi John
I am using a submersible Laguna 5000 in my pond which is rated about the
same gph and it cost me about the same on sale - 13 months - no problems and
good performance. So I would say using price would not discount this pump.
Mine had a 3 year guarantee, which is standard for the 'better quality'
submerged pumps. If that is not a submersible pump or has a shorter
warranty I would consider it somewhat suspect. IMHO
