View Full Version : Diy Live Rock

I once found a web page that told about reef safe materials on how to make
archs and different formations. Anyone know of a good diy web-site that
breaks this down, and what cement type mixes are actually reef safe?

There are a number of threads on DIY liverock at reefcentral.com. Some of
the folks have gotten it down to a science, and build rock that rivals
natural LR in appearance.

Yep. Try a search at reefcentral, or garf.org.

Give these a try:

http://www.garf.org/ - Look under "How To - Movies" and "How To - Pages";
there are a number of separate articles (some illustrated) on the topic.

http://showcase.netins.net/web/reefpage/mmliverock/mmliverock1.html - A
sort of real world journal of building rock based on information from the
GARF site.

Constructively yours,

TPG

Thanks for the plug TPG... I recently added a new page showing the insides
of some of my oldest rock. I posted it on RC, got 60+ views and hits on the
page in 12 hrs... not a single comment. Thought someone would have
something to say about it seeing as how there has been so much debate on
porosity and such, guess not. Anyway the new page is here:

I like it! Never saw the thread, but since I've reached
10,000 posts on RC, I'm done posting anyway. ;)

Wow 10,000 posts and 40 years. Are we feeling "over-the-reef"? In any
event, Happy belated 40th!

On our club message board, I have about 1800 to go, to reach
10k again. :)

Thanks for the nice wishes.
