I have a Eheim 2213 cannister filter and am thinking of setting up an
aquarium. I am new to this and was wondering what would be the best size
aquarium in gallons to use this filter with. Can anyone tell me what size
gallon aquarium would be best for this filter alone?

Thanks ahead for any advice you can give.

It depends how many fish you have in the tank & how much waste they
produce - which is a product of how much you feed them. Suggest you google
for & read up on the nitrogen cycle to start with & understand that the
filter's primary function is to deal with chemical waste rather than solid
waste.

In principle that filter will support about 30-35 gallons with reasonable
stocking levels as long as you maintain it properly.
