View Full Version : Glow in the Dark Aquarium Rocks

January 25th 05, 03:25 AM
I thought you guys may be interested that Glow Inc. is running a
one-week half price sale for it's Glow in the Dark Aquarium Rocks.

These are made from the strontium-aluminate pigments that literally
glow all night. Without the sale, these rocks are extremely expensive.
But having the aquarium naturally glow is a great effect.

They don't work that great in ponds. But because an aquarium is in a
lit house, they can charge easily. The fish lights really charge them
like crazy also.

I do work for Glow Inc. This is the last message you will see in this
forum regarding the products unless I am answering a question. I
personally used these rocks in my sister's aquarium and really liked
the outcome. So when I saw they were running the special, I figured
some of you may be interested.
The coupon code is CPFRS
The website is www.glowinc.com

Thanks,
Danny

I'm fairly new to aquariums (well, new again. I used to have aquariums all
over our house) but it seems that glowing rocks would disrupt a fishes
natural cycle.. maybe someone could abolish the myth for me... I've always
turned all aquarium lights out for at least 6 hours a night. Is it good,
bad, or neutral to have light on fish all the time?

Good point, I would be interested to hear about this as well. Keep in
mind that the glowing rocks are no where near as bright as a
flourescent bulb or any other regular light.

This reminds me of a funny story. When we first developed a
water-based paint, I wanted to see how it compared in brightness and
duration to our solvent-based paint. I made a 1 quart batch of each
product and put them in clear glass containers, which I then took home
and put in my bedroom. I figured I could wake up before the sun comes
up and compare the glow without even getting out of bed. About 2 am, I
was still wide awake because of the glow in the room. To say the
least, the two quarts got moved to the living room.
