I'm ordering a red black sea star (formia milleporella) from liveaquria.com
and was wandering if anybody has any experience with these in a reef/fish
tank? I have a scallop and am getting a Derasa clam and was wandering if
this little guy will be compatible? I tried to look up some info on them
but couldn't find any.
Thanks in advance,
Susan :)

I found serveral Q&A's on wetwebmedia on the Fromia stars, and all
seemed to indicate that the star will not bother the scallop nor the
clam. They're detrius eaters, but it would be even safer if you
target-feed it now and then with bits of silverside or some such.
That said, most if not all stars run a risk (varying by species) of
sampling some other kind of food in your tank. Can't expect TOO much
from a creature with no brain. :)
