Running a asus a7n8x-vm/400 with mdk 10.1. When I powerdown the mouse +
keyboard lights stay on have goolged this one and can't find an answer.
Any help much appreciated.

Try getting out your mother-board manual, take the cover off your
computer, and manually reset your bios (cmos) using the appropriate
jumper settings. I've done this on other folks' computers with similar
problems, and it worked nicely. You may need to reconfigure your bios
afterward, but at least your computer will probably be working again.

You don't say whether you are using USB / PS/2, depending there
are probably USB / PS2 power jumpers (which control whether devices
are still powered at shutdown) if you have a look through your
motherboard manual it will tell you.
