Can a tank cycle real fast?

Is it possible for a tank to cycle like overnight? I have had my 75 gal.
tank up for about 40 days now. I have 3 green chromis and 2 yellow tail
damsel and 12 snails. Also about 70lb. of LR. with a wet/dry filter and
no skimmer yet.

i would think it has been cycled with that much rock in there, that
long...40 days? overnight?

btw get the damsels out while you can....you will hate them in 5 months when
they are beating up your other fish...

The short answer is yes. "Cycle" merely means that bacteria have colonized
the filter and tank, enough so that ammonia and nitrites are converted to
nitrates. If you stocked with live rock, and/or used already colonized
filter media or decorations, then you really did not have to go through a
"cycle". Never-the-less, you are cycled by now.

i have a maroon clown going on 15 years.

They live forever. And almost impossible to catch with out having to take
the rock out. I tried for weeks and just gave up. Tried all the traps and
gizmo's with out luck. they are pretty fish but get very aggressive over
time. they will beat up on almost any fish/size they feel that are moving
into there territory. I will never cycle with them again. Use live rock and
seed from another tank. I even went as far as trying to catch them with a
small hook and line. They were to fast and smart for me.
