Hi All:

I've been reading about the benifits of dripping in kalcwasser...does
anyone know if that is the same as dripping in liquid calcium mixed
with filtered tap water?

Thanks!

I don't belive so. Kalkwasser has other elements in it rather than Calcium.
It also has a PH of about 12 from what I remember. If you're looking for
something cheaper than Kalk to use, look for food grade pickling lime in
your grocery store. It's the same as Kalk.

Kent kalk is pure calcium hydroxide, reportedly, just marked up to
fleece reefers <g>. I've heard stories of the kalk being more stable
than the picking lime, the latter causing ph issues. However, I use
the pickling lime, and haven't had a single ph-related problem. YMMV.
