M fish keeps getting swimbladder (I think). Treatment sometimes works but it always comes back. Now he's lying very still and trying to hide in the tank at the bottom. I've tried changing 2/3 of water, adding salt & swimbladder stuff but he's been like this now for days. He's always been a sickboy & the other fish is fine. Is this the end for him? what can I do? I'm new to keeping fish, should I get used to them dying?

Keep trying to treat him until it looks too late.

NO! Fish sometimes get sick and die like all creatures. Don't get too
bummed out about it. It happens to ALL OF US. IF he dies get another but
make sure it looks healthy before buying it.
Hang in there!

Too late he's passed away to fish heaven & I have one lonely fish. Any signs to look out for when buying a new one? Will the older fantail bully a new smaller one?

Firstly, I would leave adding anything new to the tank for a good couple
of months; if there's been a disease in the tank (and hiding at the
bottom not moving much sounds like a sick fish - that or water quality -
have you tested?) you don't want to introduce a new fish to it. Leave it
for a while till you're sure your other fish is ok.
