Need help with cichlid informational sheet.

Over the last few months, I've been creating care sheets to distribute
to interested customers at my workplace. I've now gotten to the
cichlid category... Despite my experience in the pet trade, the
cichlids are a family of fish that I only have a general knowledge of.
I was hoping for answers and suggestions on pertinent information that
should be included on the care sheets... such as geographical
categories & subcategories, compatibility, adult size, diet, special
care, and environmental requirements. I need to keep these sheets as
summarized & succinct as possible (I am hoping to format them so that
they fit 1/2 of a 8.5 X 11 standard sheet of paper, 2 handouts per page
- considering the amount of information, is this a pipe dream?). Any
help/information that you could give me would be heavily appreciated.

You can check out the profiles at our site www.fishaholics.org for some
ideas on some of the cichlid species. For a real general overview on the
Rift Lake African cichlids you can check out
http://www.cichlidrecipe.com/cichlidrecipe/ . Also, the Cichlid-Forum has
recently added an indepth profiles section. Basically short descriptions
with parameters, feeding etc. This might be something you're looking for.
They were in development stage when I was asked to look at them, but that
was a while back. I'm pretty sure they're up and open to general audiences

www.cichlid-forum.com is the only place you need to go. not only do they
have in-depth details about each species, they have a forum section where i,
along with MANY other fish breeders and keepers (not to mention fish shops
that speciallize in cichlids) post and share a wealth of information. ive
checked out other cichlid sites and have found www.cichlid-forum.com to be
the best source for cichlid info on that there interwebnet thingie ;)

You can also try on our site. Due to the shear size of the cichlid
classification, and sub species ect, there will be a large volume of
fish. It might be easier to start out with the most common/popular
types of African, South, and Central American species.

PS It is nice to see someone who seems to have the best interest of the
pets they deal with at heart. Some LFS/LPS don't always seem to care
about it, after the sale.

Thank you for your suggestions.....I'll be working on this sheet over
the next week or so and I may eventually post my final pre-print draft
of the sheet on here and ask you guys to proof-read my work.

P.S. Thanks Fuzzy, the store I work for isn't perfect, but I am
thankful that my boss is not all about the money. She seems to have
found the happy middle ground between running a business and caring for
her clientele & their pets; which has enabled us to do our jobs the way
it should be done. I figure that if you're always honest with people
and encourage them to become educated on their intended tank stock,
they are far more likely to have a successful tank in the long-term.
It sickens me to see places like Wal * Mart or other pet stores tell
uninformed people whatever they want to hear just so they can make a
few bucks selling a half-dead fish to someone with an inappropriate
tank setup.

(I'll shut up now before this becomes another soap-box rant). :)
