Is salt OK?

Half way through my 5 gal bucket of corallife salt, the water I make with it
is murkier than before. It has cleared up some after a few days but it is
still slightly murky. Before the water would be perfectly clear after a
few days. I'm using the same source water which is tap water run through a
fresh tap water filter. Should I still use this slightly murky water or
trash the salt?

The problem is most likely your tap water not the salt. You should
always use RO/DI water in a marine tank, any other source of water can
vary greatly and have all kinds of nastys in it.

Does the water from the TWP smell fishy? I had the milky merckies once,
replaced the cartridge and all was well again. If the water is fishy
smelling don't use it. The ion exchange resin is leaching! I have seen
instructions on the net to recharge the cartridge, but have never tried
myself. $23.00 is just too easy to spend!
