I've lost another fish so thats 3 out of the 5 bought together on same day
from same tank died. My water is normal according to the pet shop infact
they used the word perfect. So why am I losing them all? I'm really
depressed right now as my lionhead was the latest casualty and was my
favourite fish.

Going back to the petshop in the morning. Can anyone suggest questions I
should be asking, what I should take with me (the live plants seem to have
some sort of "growth" around their tub should I maybe take a sample?) or
anything else which might help me get to the bottom of this?

Thanks!

You've added 5 goldfish in one go to a tank? How many gallons?
Sounds like cycling issue to me, probably death by high levels of
ammonia or nitrite.

It always amazes me at how stupid some people in fish shops really are.
Anyway, just keep up water changes (and water tests) and your remaining
2 will likely pull through. Good luck and keep us informed.
