Wow,
I just joined this forum yesterday....is there another forum where people are friendly? Everyone seems to be arguing, and putting each other down? I thought forums were friendly...........
Thanks,
Cecileew

Usenet groups go thru stages...
I've been hanging out here now for a month or so, and MOST of the
posters are pretty decent, helpful and nice people.
There are assholes in every group and there really is no way to
completely get away from it. It's best to just ignore it and not take it
personally.
It's been my experience on usenet that in order to get along, you just
have to go along, and it's also taught me that I don't always have to be
right, (and it's ok to apologize when I really screw up!) and I usually
learn that I did not know anywhere near as much as I thought I did!
<lol> I've learned to kinda feel out the territory and keep my keyboard
low key until I get the feel of a group now. I'm also no longer afraid
to ask stupid questions, and it's also a good idea to google a bit
before really jumping into a subject. I learned THAT one the hard way!
As far as usenet groups go, (and I've belonged and still do belong to
several), this one is very, very nice. :-)
<waves> Thanks dudes!
You see, it's pretty easy for some people to be assholes behind an
anonymous keyboard so it gives them a power trip to have the freedom to
"act out" and get away with it. Usenet is one of the few true anarchies
on the planet, limited only by the tolerance of the ISP's.
Anyway, welcome, be patient, and feel free to Jump in the pond!!!!!

I know what you mean,,,
but sometimes its improtants to hold youir guard when you have someone come
on this group asking for help and when we ask what sort of setup they have
and reply with something like "ohhh...i have 10 fish in a 10 gallon" or
something like that....We tell them that this is cruel and they jump down
our throats telling us that we know nothing.....so theres the cause i
guess!!!!

This is worth repeating for benefit of al newbies!
Jo Ann asked Dr. Solo to remind people that while she has retired from selling GF (and sold
the business to Ken Fischer http://dandyorandas.com/) she has NOT retired from
helping people with sick GF and koi FOR FREE. 251-649-4790 phoning is best for

Hi,
Sorry, I meant the conversations back and forth between whoever Ingrid and Tom are. I have been treated nothing but nice when I ask questions. I just felt that their back and forth arguing did not promote a healthy atmosphere where we can all help each other and get along!
Sorry for the confusion, and thanks for everyones help.

Yeah, what she said! There's only one thread that I can think of that is
headed towards mean-ville, but nobody has called the other a Nazi yet.

You must be new to Usenet? :-)
One is not required to read all the posts.
When an unpleasant thread pops up, I usually just either ignore it or
killfile it.....
Hope that helps? <grins>

I know I got smacked around when I posted the first couple of times. Almost
made me move on to other places, but there were a few kinds words said from
others that made up for it and showed that this place does have some nice
people in it.
