View Full Version : Which return pump?

I'm debating between three pumps, the Quiet one 3000, Mag-Drive 7, and a Rio
2500. The price difference is too small to worry about so that doesn't
matter. I'm curious about which one has the least amount of problems,
easiest to clean etc. I don't want to drill my sump (10-gallon aquarium)
hence the submersibles.
Thanks in advance

For 10 gallons tank sump I use Maxi Jet 1200 as a return pump.
I have Quiet One 3000 but it seems to be too big.
BTW - Rio pumps have not a very good reputation.

I am running four Rios, three are 20 HFs. Other than losing one during a
lightning storm I have had no problems in nearly 12 months.

I have a Mag-7 for my return pump. I've been using it for about 10 months
and it's worked fine so far. I have it on my 65 g 36" tall tank so it has
about 55" of head pressure on it. The pump does make a faint humming sound
all the time but I've gotten used to it now. If I had to get another pump
I'd still get the Mag brand just because it's all I have used.
