I have some drift wood from my freshwater days. I have 2 big pieces that
don't require slate to hold them in place. Has anyone used driftwood or is
it just not a good thing to do?

I believe I remember that "bad things" can leech out of driftwood
plus it can discolor the water.... but I'm not positive. I do know
I haven't seen a SW Reef tank with any wood in it.

Basically tannins. They are what leach out in a fresh water Chlid tank to
make the water's pH lower and better for chilids. Would not be good for a
marine tank.... maybe a brackish on... I don't know.
