I inherited a 75 gallon tank that used to be a live rock tank. I
converted it to freshwater a few years back but now my pump has gone
out. I have an Oceanic Model 75 Plus Series trickle filter. My
existing pump is an external, non submersible, Little Giant model that
I can seem to find documentation for anywhere. It has 1" inflow and
outflow connections. The markings on the pump are as follows:
Little Giant Pump
7121 8205 Type U21B
131 Watts - 3000 RPM
L.G. PN 977447
I'm not sure how many gallons per hour the old one was pumping but
the flow was pretty brisk, probably considerably more than it needed to
be. That said, I have no idea what I'm after, except for the fact
that I'd like to stick with a 1" in/out pump so all I have to do is
re-teflon tape the connectors when I swap it out. The tank houses a
handful of medium sized African Mbuna Cichlids with no plants and a ton
of honeycomb limestone or Texas "holey rock"
Can anyone offer any suggestions for replacement pumps for this
application? A vendor in Austin TX would be a definite plus but not a
requirement by any means.
