We have a plain ole cory cat, smallish, and was wondering whether these fish
are fine alone, or if I should add another of the same species for company.
It is easy to forget about these fish and concentrate on the others when
they are so peaceful and just act like vacuums.

thanks,
dwhite

Awwwwww, get him a buddy. ;-}
We have two in our 26g and they hang out together a lot.
Twin engines ---I mean vacuums.

All the best,

If you have room for two more that would be even better. Cory cats are
schooling fish and do much better when kept in groups of at least three.

Sometimes they're more active and playful in a group than solo.
Sometimes they still just sit around. YMMV

I'm going to second what Elaine T said. I had on, but he really semed
much happier when got him three little buddies to hang out with. I am
always seeing a little pile of Cory's some where in the tank. They are
great to watch when you've got atleast two.

Same here. I had one sharing a tank with a betta. He was relatively
inactive. I moved them to a bigger tank and added two more corys.
Quite a but more activity.

BTW, all three are different varieties. I've thought of a tank with
nothing but corys - one each of all the different ones I can find :-).
