shrimp or crawfish

I recently decided to add shrimp to my fishtank to clean up the algae on my
plants. I bought the first one about 2 months ago. I got 2 more about a
month ago. The first one is now about 2 inches long and I really don't
think it's a shrimp. I suspect that it's a crawfish but since I have no
experience with either, I'm not entirely sure.

Well, I have both. The crawfish I have look like small lobsters, and
the shrimps I have. well, look like shrimps. Two inches long you say?
My guess is the it is a crawfish. If you want to know for sure, post a
link to a photo of it.

Great shots! I especially like the ones hanging out on the frogbit
roots. I just added some of these to all my tanks yesterday. So far,
so good - none have been munched. ;-)

there are some shrimp with claws that get big & are easily mistaken for
crayfish...
