Hello everyone, I have a question about purchasing a reliable heater. I
have seen a few types on the internet that have a "thermostat" to set the
desired temperature for the heater to run at, such as Ebo Jaeger, but was
wondering how reliable these "set it" heaters can be. Does anyone else have
such a heater, not necessarily the Ebo Jaeger, and how have they worked?
Any reccomendations of other brands/types is greatly appreciated. Thank you
for any help you can provide. ** In case this information will help:
36gal. tank, roughly 45 lb. LR**

FornoW,

I personally only use and recommend Pro-Heat Titanium Heaters. They are
quite reliable and will not fail due to water leaking into them like the
submersible heaters. I have used Ebo-Jaeger's in the past and they are about
the only one out there I would use for submersible. Out of the 40 or more
Pro-Heats I have sold I only had only one with a problem, and I think the
customer splashed water on the unit.

I am not a big submersible heater advocate, because I have seen most every
brand fail at some point. There are new styles on the market now and maybe
they have made some changes to solve the problems, but I can't take chances
with customers tanks.
