View Full Version : shrimp and bloodworms-how often?

Have recently bought the frozen brine shrimp and they all love it(even
the RTS tries a bit.) I have just bought the frozen blood worms to
add to their diet. I don't want to overdose them with protein each
day so I was thinking of feeding the flakes in the am and the
shrimp/bloodworm combo for din dins. Would this an ok plan or is
there a better way to use the two frozen foods.
All the best,
Larry

I guess it depends on what kind of fish you keep. I keep mostly
carnivores in the big tank, so they get a mixture of frozen brine
shrimp, bloodworms, and mysis shrimp once a day. Before lights out I
dump some sinking wafers for the bottom feeders. Works for me, I haven't
fed them flakes other than a snack of spirulina flakes in ages.

For my Tetras, Sword, Barbs and Gourami, I feed once per day with
flakes/wafers, and then every second day after the flake feed they get
bloodworms for "dessert". I rarely just give them bloodworms on their own,
but if I do, then they get a small veggie flake feeding about 4 hours later
(about 1/2 hour before lights out).
ymmv, dependent on your species.
