I'm not sure where I read the original posts, I think it was on one of
the forums. Either way, I thought I'd throw out a recent data point
and observation. I've seen this phenomena on a few of my java fern
plants, both the small fine leaf variety as well as the larger long
leaf style. The very tip of the leaf turns very dark, looking much
like it got stepped on, like a bruise. What I'm making note of today
is one specific leaf that has gradually healed itself. The dark area
slowly receded, as if the light green substance slowly refilled the
dark area. The tip is now completely healed and looks perfectly
normal.
I see this condition in all 3 of my tanks that have Java Fern.
