So, My Betta (in a 5 gallon heated/filtered tank) suddenly showed up with
cotton-like, yellow clumps. He was treated with 3 courses of fungus
eliminator and since that didn't work out, i switched to Maracyn and Maracyn
2.
I haven't seen the cotton globs on his fins again and the fins are all
better but he is bloated. Quite bloated. I am fearing dropsy or
constipation. His scales are not sticking out and he's still acting
normal...eating like a pig and all that.
What should be the next course of action? I have given him a crushed boiled
pea, without the peel, which he ate with pleasure but things aren't better.
Help, please!!!

Cut *way* back on the amount of food you're feeding him and hope for
the best!

Your fish most likely has an internal infection with the same bacteria
that were on his fins (possibly Flexibacter). Yes, he might die.
However, his fins healed with Maracyn and Maracyn 2. I would soak his
food in a mix of Maracyn and Maracyn 2 to get the medicine that seemed
to be working on his fins inside him. Treat for 10 days and hope for
the best.
