View Full Version : Is this a baby snail?
I found this creature in my tank tonight. It is really small, clear,
and moves like a snail. It travels across the glass like a snail, and
seems to have a mouth like a snail. I have 12 mexican turbo snails in
my tank. Could this be a baby?

The other side has a small brown spot.
Thanks

Looks like a juvenile Nassarius Vibex snail. Great detrius eaters,
and keep the sand bed stirred up.

Duh, my bad. It's a little flatworm. Won't hurt a thing.

They're harmless. Some critters will eat them. They pose no danger to
your tank that I know of.

Yea but have sure seen some species (never seen this one) totally take over
a tank... don't really hurt anything... but can sure cover the whole place
with a carpet!

I should this picture to one of the guys at our local marine store, and
he suggested we use Flatworm Exit to get rid of them. Is this wise?

White or opaque flatworms are benign. Nothing to fear.
