I went to my FLS and was told not to try to keep acropora's with my VHO
setup. 2 Blues, and 1 White Actinic and 1 White. 58 gallon Oceanic. Anybody
have any luck with Acropora's and Montipora's with VHO setup?

You can keep many acro's and monti's with VHO only lighting. You might
not get as good of coloration out of them as you would with brighter
lights but many people keep lots of SPS corals with only vho bulbs.

They will grow just fine the color's may change. Just keep a foot or so from
the lights.

Yep, I've even known a few people who kept them under NO lighting and
they grew and thrived. The only downside to lower light intensity is
their tendency to brown out - you can get nice acros but the nice
blues or purples you see in the shops will probably fade.
