Filtering H2O

Dose anyone filter their tap water before putting it in their tanks to
reduce/remove nutrients. If so is there a cheap DYI system. I am having
problems with algae and I am sure it stems from the water here.

Test your tap water for Nitrates/Phosphates & let us know what's what...
