View Full Version : Anemone Reproduction

I'm taking care of my husband's tank while he's deployed and I have a
question about our anemone. It's a bubble tip and we've had for about 3
months and it's been doing great. This morning, I noticed it was open
really wide, much bigger than normal and it seemed paler than normal. This
evening, it's its normal color but it seems to be "stretching" itself out.
It's like a rubber band that you've pulled taut except, at each end, it's a
bit larger than in the middle. The tentacles (?) are fuller at each end and
look shorter and shriveled in the middle. The base of it is about 3/4 of an
inch high all around. Any ideas as to what it might be doing? Could it be
splitting? Please tell me I haven't done something that's making the poor
thing die!!!

Thanks for your help.

It sounds like a split but my BTAs usually deflated during the split. Only
took a portion of a day once the stretching started. How does it look now?
