Hi all,
I've only posted a couple times, but I thought I would update anyway.
My wife and I set up a total of three tanks. The main tank is a 20H
with six cories in it (spotted cories, Corydoras melanistius). It's
been set up for about a month now, and they're all doing fine. The tank
cycled in only nine days due to the Bio-Spira (we were able to find some
locally!).
We each have a betta on our desks -- I have one that's mostly red with
some blue, purple, and teal, and my wife has a mostly-blue crowntail.
She has him in a standard 5.5 rectangular tank, and mine is in a
Mini-Bow 5. Both of these tanks are filtered, heated, and cycled. They
are so cute when they eat!
Next, we're going to get a 55 and transfer the cories to it so that we
can use the 20 as a quarantine tank, and we're going to go with a
catfish theme, with upside-down catfish, bushynose Ancistrus sp., glass
catfish, and a few others. We also plan to get an 80 for a half-dozen
clown loaches and some as-yet-undetermined tankmates. Once we get
another tank set up as a quarantine, we're planning on making the 20
into a species tank with dwarf puffers (and maybe a couple otocinclus
for help with algae control and scavenging, since I understand that
puffers in general are somewhat messy when they eat).
We can start with the 55 once I get that truck we've been discussing...
Lots of fun. :-)
