So evidently, when you're working in your tank, and you forget to unplug
the electric heater, it makes a noise very much like coffee brewing on
one of those cheap electric hot plate coffeemakers.
I was thinking to myself, gee, coffee seems like a good idea.
The heater was thinking to itself, almost, almost.....alll...most.... TINK!
Luckily no one was hurt.
I shake my head at myself, for after so many years of this I should know
better.

Only twice? *groan* I don't want to even count.
Tronic heaters turn themselves off if they sense an over-temperature
condition. I used them almost exclusively at the shop (where I didn't
have to pay for them). They later reset themselves. We would routinely
drain/fill tanks and forget about the heaters, and they would be fine.
