View Full Version : Live Rock Quarantine Tank

I am going to start creating aragocrete for my 150 gallon tank as soon
as I get my new RO/DI from Marc. During the curing phase of the
aragocrete, I want to purchase and quarantine the seed live rock that I
will purchase (~15 pounds). When done, I intend to convert the entire
quarantine tank, lighting, etc into a refugium that will go inside my
stand (not the best place for a refugium, but you gotta deal with what
you have). I need suggestions for inexpensive lighting that I can use to
meet both needs. I'm thinking of getting some "Corals on Rock" from
Tampa Bay Salt Water, so it would have to keep that alive and healthy
until I moved it to the MH lighting of the primary tank. Also, any
thoughts on what to use for water movement? The plan will be to really
cycle the rock well and hopefully get rid of as many nuisance critters
as possible.

As an aside, I am making the quarantine tank/refugium myself out of
acrylics, so I will have a lot of leeway on how it is physically
designed.
