Set up 75 Gal reef system...

Ph, Nitrite & Ammonia are all where they should be.

1. How important is testing for calcium at this point.

2. It's been 3 weeks. I was told to wait 6 weeks before starting light
cycle. Can I start now? If I do start now, when should I introduce
snails & hermit crabs? OR--how soon after starting lights should I
introduce snails? & how many snails?

Wanna get this going! First 2 weeks were easy--now I wanna fill this
thing!

I always start my lights up within a week or so of set-up but build them up
gradually. I start with about 4 hours and add 1 hour every one or two days
until they're running about 12 hours (12 hours actinic, 10 hours white with
1 hour diffrence at either end). Personally (and opinions differ) I would
add the snails when you start to get an algae build up on the glass/rocks
and add the hermits after you've added fish. If you're using live rock and
it has fully cycled (i.e amonia and nitrites have increased and then droped
to zero), you could add the hermits now.

Hope it helps,

Mark
