View Full Version : How to grow mangroves?

I have 10 red mangrove babies that need me to learn how to care for them.
Right now I have them in a 10 gal. aquarium full of fresh water. I have no
experience in sal****er tanks, I thought the mangrove would do well in
either fresh or salt water.

Should this water be brackish?

What fish, snails or other anti-algae organisms could I put in with the
plants?

What should I use to "mount" the plants in the tank? Mud or sand for them
to grab onto?

What nutrients should I give them?

These plants are outside, so the water temp will change day and night... I
guess I could put a heater in there if I have to for fish, but I thought the
mangroves would do well, so long they don't freeze.

Any help you have to offer would be most appreciated.

Thanks,
Muuurgh
