Hi

I have a marine setup 55 Ga with only a sharpnose puffer and a
clownfish. They are doing fine, eat well, don't fight a lot, but my
puffer is getting thinner and thinner. It is always and still very
active and lively and eats well but it looks too thin now, what can I
do?
The clown looks fine. Can I add an additive to the water, something the
puffer might be lacking?
I feed ocean nutrition formula one marine pellets and just bought some
frozen brine shrimps to try to provide some meaty food.

Thanks for your time

My fish all like Squid. I get it from the fresh seafood store in a frozen
box. Remember, your fish food is not limited to what the pet store sells!

Puffers require much more than pellet foods. They need large quantities
of marine based protein and snails and so on to crunch and keep their
teeth in order. I suggest clicking over to www.wetwebmedia.com and
looking up information on pufferfish diets. There is nothing you can
add to the water to make the fish put on weight. Also, it is likely
that as your puffer grows, it will make a meal of the clownfish so you
might want to find alternative arrangements for the clown before it
becomes dinner.
