I have read somewhere that you're supposed to soak those hard sinking
goldfish pellets (I use Nutrafin max), before dropping in the tank. I
thought it might be because those pellets are so darned HARD! I'm
thinking, how could those fish eat them?

Then the pet store girl told me that certain types of fantails eat the
pellets from the water surface and end up getting air into their
stomachs which then causes bladder problems.

Any thoughts? I own two sarossa/shubunkins and they don't seem to
care, but you know, you can never tell with them.

Sarossa/shubunkins are less likely to get swim bladder than fancy fantails
as there bodies are not squished up in the same way. You probably don't need
to worry.
